No matter how new our pans may be, it happens to all of us to spot black spots that make them look old already. Unfortunately, in fact, contact with food and overuse causes these to tend to encrust and blacken on the bottom. But fear not! Today, in fact, we will see together how to remove burnt black from the bottom of pans and make them shiny like new again by resorting only to these homemade and natural ingredients!
The first remedy is to use the well-known baking soda, which boasts cleaning, degreasing and descaling properties due to its mild abrasive action. To use it, then, you will have to spread it directly on the bottom of the pans and cover, then, with a little boiling water, taking care not to scald yourself. At this point, leave it to act for a while and wipe with a sponge to remove the dirt: the blackness will be just a bad memory!
Another very effective ingredient is white vinegar, which is able to descale quickly and easily! Not surprisingly, it is a godsend for removing all the grease from the cooktop! So, pour the absolute vinegar (preferably heated) on the bottom of the pan and let it act for a while. After that, wipe with a sponge and rinse: even the toughest encrustation will be gone in no time!
After baking soda and vinegar, how could lemon, which boasts multiple properties including degreasing and whitening, be missing from the roll call? We remind you, in fact, that it is used to impart whiteness to your clothes without resorting to bleach! We recommend, therefore, that you wet the bottom of the pan with warm water and rub the lemon sponge on it, then. At this point, let it act for a while, after which you rub it further with a sponge or a special brush and goodbye fouling!
In addition to baking soda, salt also has a mild abrasive action that can remove the most stubborn dirt! Moisten, then, the bottom of the pan with warm water, then sprinkle salt on it. After that, leave it to work and scrub with a sponge. For an even more effective effect, you can combine the salt with lemon and use, then, the natural sponge! All you will need to do is cut a lemon in half and just dip it into the salt until it creates a thin white layer. Wait a while for the salt to soften on contact with the lemon and use this sponge to rub it into the blackened bottom of the pan!
N.B We recommend that you use fine salt and avoid coarse salt because it can be very abrasive and may scratch the pans. Also, it is advisable to always shake the sponge before use so as to remove excess salt.
This may seem like a wacky remedy, yet coffee grounds are capable of descaling because of their abrasive action. To make the best use of them, crumble them up and mix them with a little water to make a paste-like mixture.
After that, pour it on the bottom of the pan and leave it on for at least 15 minutes. Finally, wipe it off with a sponge and rinse. Your pan will be as good as new!
If you have always thought of toothpaste as a product that can only whiten teeth, you are very wrong, as it can come to your rescue to clean, descale and whiten surfaces. All you need to do, then, is apply some to the bottom of the pan and leave it for about 20 minutes. After that, rinse and goodbye black bottom!
If the black spots are still there on the bottom of your pan, here is the solution for you: a cleaning mix that blends the properties of several ingredients together! So, equip yourself with:
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1 cup of white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of fine salt
Start by dissolving the salt in some water, then add the lemon juice and vinegar until you get a mixture. At this point, transfer it to a steamer, spray it generously on the black encrustation on the bottom of your pan, and wipe with a sponge-it will be as good as new!
In order not to damage utensils, I recommend trying the remedies first in a hidden corner.
