DIY Homemade Rooting Hormone idea

If you have tried in the past to propagate a plant through its cuttings and the operation was unsuccessful, you probably did not use the proper rooting agent. There are many chemical rooting agents on the market that are also very effective, but few people know that it is possible to prepare one that is completely natural and much cheaper. In this article we explain how to prepare a very effective natural rooting agent that works with virtually any plant. You need:

  • 1/3 lb. of black beans
  • 1 quart of water
  • Colander
  • Cloth
  • Large container

Pour the black beans into the container of water, cover with a dark cloth and wait about 8-10 hours. After the allotted time has elapsed, the water will have turned dark. Use the strainer to strain the water, which should be poured into another container. The idea is to leave the beans a little moist to encourage their germination. Cover the container with the moist beans and wait a day. The next day add some of the dark liquid to hydrate the beans, wait 15 minutes and drain again. You must repeat this step every day until the beans begin to germinate. After about 5 days, the beans will all be germinated. Pour half of the dark liquid used to germinate the beans over the beans, and add about 2 cups of clean water. Whisk the mixture until smooth. Strain the blended mixture through a strainer to block the residue and get a clean liquid. The liquid, which will have a light brown color, will be our concentrated rooting agent. To use it on plants, use for example ½ cup of rooting agent with 2 cups of water.

The power of the rooting agent lies in its high content of auxins, compounds that stimulate the appearance of roots and make the plant stronger and healthier.
