Before we get started

Before we look at the tricks that can deodorize your oven and remove bad odors, it is good to first clean it thoroughly. To do so, then, we recommend cleaning it with a thick paste made with 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of Castile soap and warm water! Then, apply it to the walls of the oven, especially where there is scale, leave it to work, after which scrub to remove all the dirt.

  • Citrus peels

Citrus fruits, you know, are famous for their intoxicating smell! In fact, when we talk about lemons, tangerines or oranges, all that comes to mind is a good smell! So, why not use them to absorb the stench in the oven and perfume it? All you need to do is place the peels of an orange or lemon (mixed is also fine) on a baking sheet with baking paper and preheat the oven to 350 °F for a few minutes. After that, put the baking sheet in for about 20 to 30 minutes, and when you see that the peels have dried, turn off the oven and you’re done!

  • Baking soda

Another trick we suggest is to use lots of baking soda, which is a godsend because of its many properties and, above all, because of its ability to neutralize bad odors. We remind you, in fact, that this product can also be used to absorb odors in the refrigerator! All you need to do, then, is to pour 2 cups of baking soda into a bowl with water and then put it in the oven at 350 °F. After that, wait a few minutes so that the water can evaporate, and the baking soda can absorb all the odors in the oven and voila: the smell will be just a bad memory!

  • Apple trick

In addition to orange and lemon, there is another fruit that could come to your rescue in case of stench from the oven: the apple. To try this trick, then, cut an apple into slices and place, then, the slices on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. After that, place the baking sheet in the oven and turn it on, setting it to a temperature of 350 °F. Then, leave it for about 15 minutes and turn off the appliance. Finally, open the door and voila: you will notice that the apple will have absorbed any bad smells and your oven will even smell good! As if that were not enough, the apple can also be used to bring the smell of autumn into the house!

  • Vinegar

In addition to baking soda, vinegar is also known for its ability to neutralize odors. In fact, it is even used on laundry to remove the smell of dampness! Bring, then, 2 cups of white vinegar to a boil and pour it, then, into two bowls. At this point, place them back in the clean oven while they are still steaming, close the oven door and let them sit for about 30 minutes so that the vinegar can evaporate and absorb odors. When you open the oven door, you will notice that the smell will have been absorbed completely!

  • Stale bread

Finally, let’s look at one last remedy for removing odors from the oven after cleaning it: the bread trick! The procedure is really a piece of cake, as you only need to preheat the oven to 350  °F for 15 minutes, and turn it off, then, without opening the door.
