Over time, bathroom ceramics are known to lose their shine and tend to dull if not yellow, so much so that they look old and worn. However, much care we may take of the bathroom, in fact, we may not necessarily be able to impart shine, as it takes the right ingredients. In this regard, today we will see together how to whiten bathroom ceramics by resorting only to home and natural remedies!
Baking soda
The first remedy we propose is to use baking soda, which is known for its whitening function and mild abrasive action that can thoroughly clean without damaging surfaces. To make ceramics shiny, then, we recommend mixing a few tablespoons of baking soda with water until it is thick. At this point, apply it to a sponge and rub it directly on the surfaces of your bathroom fixtures. Let it sit for a while and rinse: your bathroom ceramics will be as good as new!
Salt and lemon
No, this is not a combination of ingredients to be used to season your meals, but rather a cleaning and polishing mix that can give your bathroom fixtures a shine. Both products, in fact, are known to impart whiteness to surfaces. Not surprisingly, they are used as a natural alternative to bleach when it comes to bleaching laundry. Then, in a bowl, pour 1 tablespoons of salt and the lemon juice in a trickle, after which stir until you get a sort of mixture with a creamy consistency. At this point, apply the mixture to a nonabrasive sponge and rub it on the bathroom fixtures. Finally, rinse and your bathroom will seem to have a new glow!
White vinegar
After baking soda, salt and lemon, we could not fail to mention vinegar, the ingredient known starting with our grandmothers for its many properties, including its ability to whiten ceramics and remove any yellow or black stains due to limescale. Then fill a spray bottle 3/4 full with white vinegar and the remaining part with warm water, after which you spray the resulting mixture on the ceramics and scrub with a soft sponge. Finally, rinse, and you’re done!
Organic soap
Another very effective ingredient is organic soap, which is considered a must-have for always having top-notch laundry! In addition to its stain-removing and cleaning function, it also boasts an intoxicating smell that will bring a good scent throughout the bathroom! So, make a few flakes from the soap loaf, after which you apply them directly to a sponge that you will then run over the bathroom fixtures. Leave it to work, after which you rinse: the dullness of your ceramics will be just a bad memory!
Yellow soap
Not only organic soap can come to your rescue in case of yellow or dull ceramics, but also yellow soap, which, thanks to coconut oil, is able to degrease and polish thoroughly. Make a small ball of yellow soap, after which apply it to the sponge and rub it on the sanitary ware. Finally, rinse and the ceramics will look as if you just bought them!
Cleaning mix
If the remedies seen so far have failed to make your ceramics super shiny, then we still have a remedy for you: the cleaning mix, which takes advantage of the properties of organic soap and baking soda. Equip yourself, then, with:
- 2 tablespoons of soap flakes
- 2 cups of water
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
Melt, then, the organic soap flakes in a water bath so that the natural detergent can be more liquid and add, then, the baking soda. At this point, mix everything together and decant the resulting mixture into a spray bottle. Finally, all you have to do is spray the mixture generously on all the bathroom ceramics, leave it on for a few minutes and scrub with a nonabrasive sponge.
