How to Clean Oven Glass Inside, Outside and in Between

If we could avoid cleaning an appliance and have it constantly cleaned, we would definitely choose the oven! When you have to remove the encrustation that sets up in the walls and on the grates, it becomes a real nightmare! Not to mention the double-glazing that takes quite a bit of effort and time since, most of the time, it has to be disassembled. What if I told you that there is a quick and easy method to have it as good as new without having to disassemble it and saving so much effort? Let’s find out together right now!

Ingredients:

first thing we need to do is to get all the necessities to prepare our remedy that will make the double-glazing crystal clean again! You will need a few ingredients that you will surely have at home, let’s see what they are right away!

  • 1/3 lb. of citric acid
  • 1 quart of water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 ladle with a flat spout
  • Double napkins
  • 1 rubber band
  • 1 spray bottle

That’s what you will need to remove all the dirt and degrease the double glass thoroughly. The main ingredient, as you may have noticed, is citric acid. This in fact is fantastic for sending away even the most stubborn stains; in fact, it is even used in the bathroom to remove all the lime scale! The lemon juice will only enhance the cleaning action of the citric acid and also give it a fantastic scent.

Procedure

Let’s get right to the procedure! Dissolve the citric acid in the water completely until you get a single solution, then add the lemon juice as well and stir.

Caution. The lemon juice must be filtered very well, remove all the little seeds and pieces of pulp, otherwise you will not be able to spray the natural cleanser you are preparing well. At this point, when you have obtained one mixture, you have to pour it into the spray bottle with the help of a funnel and that’s it!

Method of use

Once you have prepared the natural and effective solution for double glazing, all that’s left is to see how to use it! Fold the napkin in half and wrap it around the flat spout of the ladle, then secure it with a rubber band to hold it firmly in place. After that, spray a generous amount of the solution on all sides of the napkin and go to insert it inside the glass, you will see that you will be able to get to the corners without any problems. If the napkin gets dirty right away, change it and repeat this step until the dirt is completely gone. Now you just have to rinse, so wrap a dampened and wrung out microfiber cloth always around the spout of the ladle and remove all the residue. Let it dry and lo and behold, the double glass will be shiny and good as new again!

Alternative methods

That of the spout is one of the most practical and popular methods when you want to thoroughly clean the glass without making special efforts. However, it is not the only one that can help; let’s take a look at two alternative methods to keep on hand at all times:

  • Hanger method:

you will need to take a metal hanger, open it and put a microfiber cloth soaked in vinegar on the handle, then insert it into the double glass and start scrubbing to remove stains. After that, do the same step to rinse with a little fresh water and there you go!

  • Clamp method:

this involves using the clamp to turn the meat instead of the hanger, attach a vinegar-soaked cloth to this tool and start rubbing inside the double glass, you’ll see what a result!

N.B. With these two methods you can also use the citric acid mixture we saw earlier instead of vinegar.

Warnings

Always try the remedies described first on an inconspicuous corner to make sure you don’t damage the glass.
