How to Clean your Birkenstocks

What you need:

  • Baking soda
  • Bar soap
  • Shoe brush
  • Old toothbrush
  • Sponge
  • Clean clothes
  • Water

How to do?

  1. Use the brush to remove the dust on the sandals.
  2. Pass a damp cloth to catch the embedded dust.
  3. Open all the buckles of the sandals.
  4. Clean the interior with the damp cloth.

Note: If the buckle is nubuck leather, use the brush to loosen it up.

  1. Mix a little baking soda and water to make a paste.
  2. Spread the paste on the inside of the sole where your foot lands.
  3. Rub well with the toothbrush so that the mixture penetrates all corners.
  4. Rinse off with the damp sponge.
  5. Lather soap on the sponge.
  6. Clean the soles with this soap sponge.
  7. Rinse the sponge and rinse the sole with it.
  8. Dry with the cloth to absorb as much water as possible.
  9. Let the sandals dry in a dry and ventilated place.
