How We Make Our DIY Laundry Detergent & Save

Our dear washing machine represents the household appliance we are undoubtedly most grateful for! However, it is not infrequent to put it under stress by using anything and everything from the point of view of detergent. This only damages it and accumulates many kinds of dirt. Our advice always aims to prefer natural and very effective remedies that save us money on detergents! In this regard, today I am going to tell you about a great recipe! Let’s see together how to make DIY laundry cubes that clean and smell all your laundry!

Ingredients:

The first thing to do is of course to see what ingredients are needed to make our fantastic cubes! You will need several items, but they are first and foremost natural, inexpensive and most importantly readily available, but I am sure most of these things are already in your home.

In detail you will need:

  • 1 loaf of organic Soap
  • 1/2 cup of baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of white vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide
  • 5 drops of essential oil of your choice
  • Silicone molds

As you can see, I have just indicated ingredients that are used very often in the washing machine and since ancient times have represented the timeless Grandma’s tricks! Baking soda, organic soap, salt, white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide are the best you can use for laundry in the washing machine. The fragrance of the essential oil is optional as it serves purely to impart your favorite smell to the laundry!

Procedure:

The first step is the one that will take the longest because you will have to grate the organic soap into a bowl. Next add also the salt and baking soda, start mixing these dry ingredients with a wooden spoon so that they are homogeneous. Do the same thing with the liquid ingredients, so mix vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, then add them to the bowl with the other elements until you get a homogeneous paste. Now you will need to arrange the mixture in the silicone molds and let them dry until they solidify completely.

As a final step, we just have to see how to use them!  These cubes are perfect for any kind of washing, even vacuum washing! So, when doing laundry put one cube directly into the basket of the washing machine and wash the clothes following the directions on the labels. If you notice that one cube is not enough for a larger load of laundry, then you can put 2 cubes. For vacuum washing, however, you will need to put 1 cube in the drum and start a high temperature wash!
