Mouthwash Uses: Home, Hygiene and Beauty

To complete oral hygiene, many people have the habit of applying mouthwash after brushing their teeth. It is indeed a very effective solution to fight tartar and freshen breath. But did you know that it is not just an accompaniment to toothpaste? Hard to imagine and yet versatile at home thanks to its antiseptic properties! You probably won’t believe it, but mouthwashes are also effective for cleaning certain surfaces, disinfecting the washing machine, replacing detergents, eliminating unpleasant odors, relieving itching, fighting dandruff, and a whole host of such surprising uses of each other. What could be more satisfying than discovering that an ordinary product can change our daily lives in many ways? Overview of some amazing uses of this famous mouthwash.

To get rid of bad odors from the washing machine

This trick is especially useful when you smell a bad odor in the washing machine and need a quick boost. There is no need to use white vinegar or baking soda or scrub or clean anything. All you need is to pour some mouthwash into the washing machine. Amazing, but its action is even faster than those two very popular cleaning products. As a bonus, you don’t have to worry: Unlike vinegar, mouthwash does not attack the internal rubber parts of the device.

All you need to do is pour 1 to 2 cans of alcohol-based mouthwash into the empty drum of your washing machine and start it on a short cycle. At the end of the wash cycle, the washing machine will be completely clean, free of bacteria and unpleasant odors. Do you have a shortage of laundry? Don’t panic, if you run out of powder to wash your clothes, mouthwash comes to the rescue. Take 120 ml and pour it into the drum of the washing machine along with the laundry. Turn it on with the usual program. At the end of the wash cycle, you will be pleasantly surprised. Your laundry will be perfectly cleaned and smell very good!

To clean your toothbrush

We all know that mouthwashes fight bacteria around the mouth, the very ones that cause bad breath. However, what is less known is that it can also drive away germs embedded in your toothbrush. Fill a jar with shower bath and soak your brush in it overnight. In the morning, it will be cleaned and refreshed!

To eliminate sweating problems

Running out of deodorant and just had a good sports session? We can imagine that the smell under your arms is not very pleasant. There is a very simple way to remedy the situation. Just put a little mouthwash on a cotton ball and rub it gently under your armpits. This way you can quickly get rid of bad sweat odors.

NB: This liquid is also ideal to refresh your feet. If they smell bad after a long day or if you have a fungal infection, you can soak them in mouthwash supplemented with a few drops of white vinegar to get spotless feet!

To disinfect the toilets

This is another very practical everyday tip. To clean, deodorize and shine your toilet, mouthwash is also very useful. To do this, put some in a spray bottle with water and a few drops of liquid soap. Spray into the bowl and scrub with a brush. Stains and bad odors are no longer relevant!

Fight acne

Even more surprisingly, mouthwash can help you treat acne-prone skin. Apply to affected areas with a cotton swab morning and night to dry out pimples. You’ll be amazed! Besides, mouthwash is also known to relieve all kinds of itching due to mosquito or insect bites. Always take it with you on vacation or during a trip to the campsite!

To get rid of dandruff

Did you know that some people use mouthwash to fight the penetration of dandruff in their hair? Sounds funny, but it works! The principle is simple: spray your fingers with the product and gently massage your scalp. Then wrap your hair in a towel, leave it on for ten minutes and then rinse your head. After a few applications, dandruff will disappear from the hair landscape.

To clean the trash can

The garbage tends to smell bad quickly. Again, mouthwash can be used as a deodorant. Simply soak a paper towel and place it at the bottom of the trash can. Very quickly, you will notice a fresh and minty scent escaping from it. Bet won!
