Not to mention, then, when we have to clean them: what a great effort! The secret, however, lies in using the right products that can remove halos and stains in the blink of an eye! In this regard, today we will see together how to make talcum powder scented glass cleaner, which can not only make your glass shiny but also perfume the whole house!
Making the talcum powder scented glass cleaner is really a breeze as it is easy and quick to prepare. Therefore, equip yourself with:
- 2 tablespoons of talcum powder
- 3 cups of lukewarm water
Start, then, by pouring the water into a graduated pitcher and add, then, the talcum powder a little at a time so that it can be totally dissolved. At this point, pour the mixture into a spray bottle and voila: your product is ready to use! For a more effective effect, you can also try a variation in which you add 2 tablespoons of talcum powder to a jug containing one cup and a half of water and one cup and a half of white vinegar. In addition to talcum powder, which is known for its very effective cleaning action and mild abrasive action that can remove haloes from glass, you add white vinegar, which boasts polishing and stain-removing properties. In fact, we would like to remind you that it is also used to make kitchen stainless steel shiny like a mirror!
Method of use
Once you’ve made our DIY talcum powder scented glass cleaner, it’s time to try it out for instant shiny, clean glass with minimal effort! Start by shaking the bottle vigorously so as to mix the ingredients even more and then spray some of this product all over the glass, especially insisting on the spots where there are stains and halos. Leave it on for 5 minutes, after which wipe the glass with a microfiber cloth and rub it gently, making circular movements. Repeat the operation until the glass is shiny! If you want even brighter glass, we recommend using newspaper sheets, as they are able to absorb all dirt and stains due to the texture of the paper and the presence of ink.
The talcum powder glass cleaner can also be used to clean bathroom glass and mirrors, which are particularly affected by limescale.
N.B We remind you, however, to always use newspaper sheets and not magazine sheets. If you want to use this mixture on shower stall glass, we recommend that you do not use it on marble or natural stone tiles because you risk staining them irreversibly.
Other tricks for cleaning glass
In addition to the DIY glass cleaner, however, there are other tricks for quickly cleaning the glass in your home. Let’s look at them together!
Let’s start with citric acid, which boasts the same properties as vinegar while being more environmentally friendly. Often used to remove limescale in household appliances, it is known for its polishing and anti-scale properties. All you need to do, then, is pour 1 quart of water, 1 teaspoon of citric acid and 1 teaspoon of organic soap into a spray bottle and spray the solution on the glass to be cleaned. After that, wipe with a soft cloth to make circular and scrubbing motions: goodbye halos! N.B Always remember to shake before use.
Lemon is also considered an ingredient that can polish and degrease glass. Moreover, thanks to its scent, it is also able to bring a good smell to the whole house! So, pour 2 cups of water and 3 tablespoons of lemon juice into a spray bottle and, for a more effective effect, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch as well. At this point, decant the resulting mixture into a spray bottle and shake it vigorously to allow the ingredients to mix well together. Spray, then, some of this solution on the windows and use a soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe and remove dirt and halos.
