Vinyl Glue: the two super easy, cheap and fast recipes!

Vinyl glue is a great product and everyone who loves recycling and DIY knows how indispensable it is. But when you need to use a lot of it using it becomes very expensive. Today we want to show you how to make an alternative solution, similar to vinyl glue, using a white glue and water.

Here are two easy recipes for making homemade vinyl glue!

DIY vinyl glue: 2 super easy, cheap and fast recipes!

Quick vinyl glue solution

  • 8 fl oz white washable glue (you can also buy it online at a very low price)
  • 1 clean, dry container with lid
  • 4 fl oz water (half as much water as glue)

Just empty the glue into the container, add the water, put the lid on and shake well. To make it shiny add 2 tablespoons of water-based paint, and to make a glitter glue add super fine glitter.

Recipe for vinyl glue with flour

  • 1/2 cups of Flour
  • 1 quarter of a cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 quarter of a teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 cup of water
  • Pot
  • A spoon
  • An airtight container (glass jar works great)

In the pot we put the water, oil, flour and sugar (You can add more or less water and/or flour to get the consistency you want, and you can add more oil to get a shinier glue). We heat the resulting mixture over medium-low heat and stir again and again until the consistency we desire, but be careful not to let it boil. We put the contents in a glass jar and let it cool to room temperature.

Shake well before use.

If the mixture we have made does not reach the desired consistency, we add a little more flour. However, after the first time, in subsequent ones, we will know perfectly how to dose the various ingredients to get the right result for use for our project.
