Are you cleaning your house? Here are all the useful tips for cleaning and scenting your floors. You should use specific products according to the material your flooring is made of to avoid destroying it.

Wood floors:

Wood floors can be treated with economic and effective household remedies. Mix 3 liters of water with 15 grams of baking soda and add a little Marseille soap (preferably liquid).

Spread the treatment on the floor with a clean dry cloth and then dry up.

For marble:

As marble is a very delicate material, it can be treated with a remedy made with:

  • 3 liters of water
  • 150 ml of denatured alcohol
  • 15 ml of liquid Marseille soap.

Your floor will come out sparkling and very scented.

How to scent your floors:

If your floor is giving off a bad smell, you need to treat it with a product that is able to hide this. Here are some examples.

Marseille soap:

Marseille soap is a very old natural remedy, perfect not only for washing clothes, but also your floors. In stores, you will also find versions perfumed with lavender, lemongrass, or even coconut.

Essential oils:

Essential oils aren’t just perfect for giving your house an agreeable smell; they can also be

added directly to the bucket of water you use to wash your floors.

The essential oils suited for this goal are: lavender, lemon, and geranium. The result will be truly astonishing.

White wine vinegar:

Often used in the kitchen as a condiment, white wine vinegar is perfect to disinfect and scent your floors. In addition, with vinegar, a little denaturated alcohol, and organic dish detergent, you can create a natural detergent to clean flooring.

Be careful: don’t use vinegar on marble or floors made with glossy material, because it can make them dull or cause irreparable damage.

Enjoy your housework!
